I Strongly Recommend Avoiding These
7 Foods

Posted By Dr. Mercola | May 30 2011 | Mercola.com

Food Matters asked seven experts a simple question: “What foods do you avoid?” Here are some of their eye-opening responses:

Canned Tomatoes

An endocrinologist won’t go near canned tomatoes -- the cans are lined with a resin containing BPA, and tomatoes are especially dangerous because their acid breaks the BPA down in dangerous amounts.

Conventional Beef

Conventional cattle are fed grain, corn and soy to make them fat, even though studies show that grass-fed beef is higher in important vitamins, minerals and heart-healthy, anti-inflammatory fats.

Microwave Popcorn

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) lines microwave popcorn bags, and when they are heated the compound, which has been linked to infertility, leaches onto the food.

Conventional Potatoes

Non-organic potatoes are heavily sprayed with herbicides, pesticides and fungicides -- many potato growers don’t eat the potatoes they sell, but instead they grow their own separate plots without all the chemicals.

Farmed Salmon

Farmed salmon are stuffed into pens and fed chicken feathers and pellets. A scientific study on fish contamination showed high levels of carcinogens such as DDT and PCBs.

Conventional Milk

Dairy cows are fed growth hormones to maximize milk production, which results in increased incidence of udder infection and pus in the milk.

Conventional Apples

Apples are heavily and frequently doused with pesticides -- pesticides that have been linked to Parkinson’s.

WHAAAT THE DEVIL?

"WE'RE HAVIN' A TEA PEAR-ODY" -Updates
FRIDAY Sept 16  2011, Update - Carisa Bendel, Conscious Chicago
According to NBCs WBIR - Chanel 10 in Tennessee, the rumors of Sarah Palin's visit to the Tennessee Valley Fair, were fueled by a hoax post on a news blog. The rumor spread quickly and as far as Chicago where the artist J. Taylor Wallace caught wind of it and, left his Chicago home to get the "Palin-Head" Sculpture/Cooker titled "We're Havin' A Tea Pear-ody" to the fair in his home town in time for Sarah's visit. Unfortunately, the Palin-esque sculpture and Sarah Palin didn't get the opportunity to meet face to face this time. Perhaps in the two "Fierce" ladies will have more opportunities in the near future.

For now the massive "Palin Head" sculpture will return to her home at the Wallace estate in Knoxville, and the artist will be returning to Chicago. It took great effort to get the massive lady to the fair site, but it wasn't in vain because the community enjoyed the spectacle, and Mr. Wallace was interviewed with his sculpture making an appearance on the local main-stream news:
NBCs WBIR - Chanel 10. I don't think this is the last we see of the smoking "Palin Head" sculpture.

Watch the video clip of of the interview and see the lady in action billowing smoke as she cooks up something delicious in Tennessee. Patch of Palin Rumors Bring Heat : NBCs WBIR - Chanel 10

You're invited to visit www.jtaylorwallace.com to inquire about purchasing the sculpture directly from the artist and to see more amazing works by Mr. Wallace.

SUNDAY Sept 11  2011, Update - Carisa Bendel, Conscious Chicago
The "Palin-Head" Sculpture/Cooker titled "We're Havin' A Tea Pear-ody" by local Chicago artist J. Taylor Wallace is on it's way to the the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville TN (the artists home town) where the real Sarah Palin is expected to stop in and take the stage on Friday September 16th in place of the scheduled entertainment "Boyz II Men" at 8pm. The satiric sculpture of Palin will be hard to miss as the over-sized steel cooker billows smoke while cooking up scrumptious smoked BBQ. Will the two Palin's finally to come face to face? We will keep you updated.

Excerpt from the KnoxPatch.com:

With a better-than-expected reception at the Iowa State Fair, Sarah Palin has announced plans to visit fairs across the United States as the summer winds down. Palin denied speculation that the state fair tour was a precursor to a Presidential campaign, “That’s ridiculous,” Palin said. “I just like it when all the farm animals lick my hands, so I visit the animal barns and petting zoos at the fair each year.”

Tennessee Valley Fair representatives say Palin’s visit should have little impact on the fair-going experience, other than removing Boyz II Men from the entertainment schedule. A spokesperson for the fair stated,”Palin wanted the stage on the night that they were scheduled, but we don’t know what announcement she may have planned.”
